There’s a Black-crowned Night Heron at Lake Park (NW Reno, Keystone Ave and Coleman Drive) today. I was strolling around the pond and it flushed from a small grove of trees as I entered it, but just shifted roosts in the same copse. A little later it flew across the pond to a willow tree, then some people showed up to feed ducks, so the heron flew down Wesley Drive towards my house and landed in a tree. I walked briskly back home and, seeing the bird a couple houses away from my yard, chalked up a new life backyard bird.
