Monthly Raffles

At each general meeting we hold a raffle to help raise funds to cover operating expenses.  We offer great and useful prizes.  Tickets are one for $1 or six for $5.  Come join in on the fun!  Be sure to come early and enjoy refreshments while chatting with fellow birders and nature enthusiasts.

If you have anything you would like to donate for the raffle, you may do so at the monthly meeting or let us know by email to make other arrangements.  All funds raided at the raffles are used for operating expenses.

The Birdy Bakers of RRAS

Many thanks to those who support our general meetings with refreshments.  All of our members appreciate your delicious efforts.  If anyone would enjoy bringing refreshments to the general meeting, please let our Hospitality Chair, Marilyn Mackett, at (702) 256-8970.

Volunteers

Got a few hours free each month to sit around a table and talk with friends about birding, conservation issues, and plan activities for Red Rock Audubon Society?  Maybe eat a few brownies, too?  If so, then volunteer to become a Board or Committee member.  Right now we’re in need of Field Trip and Education Chairs, and we can always use help covering the information tables at events Red Rock Audubon participates in.

Email us if you’re able to help out in any way, even if it’s only on an occasional basis.  Sign up sheets for the various events will be at our monthly meetings or you can send an email us to let us know you’re interested in helping out.  Just an hour or two is usually all that’s needed.

Field Trips 101, Guided by Red Rock Audubon Society

Members and the public are invited to see nature first-hand during RRAS Guided Field Trips to the best birding areas that can be reached within a day, or over a weekend, of the Las Vegas, Clark County, or surrounding southern Nevada region.  Field Trips may also provide opportunities for volunteers to help with wildlife habitat restoration or preservation.

All ages and expertise levels are welcome and encouraged to attend!  There is no charge to participate.  Occasionally there may be entrance fees, and these will be specifically mentioned in the trip description.  We suggest participants car pool, when possible, to share gas expenses & entrance fees.

To participate in a Field Trip, simply call the designated LEADER to make your reservation.

Bring the following:

  • Binoculars, scopes, field guides, drinking water, and snacks
  • Wear hiking clothes and sturdy footwear
  • Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are always recommended

Please Note:

  • Outdoor activities have inherit risks that are the responsibility of the participant
  • All Field Trips are subject to change and Leaders will be assigned pending interest
