Field Trip Report: Corn Creek (05/02/09)

On Saturday, May 2 we had a great morning of birding at Corn Creek.  Despite the weather forecast for wind and rain showers we had 16 participants and beautiful weather.  Highlights included seeing Bullock’s Oriole, Western Tanager, Black-headed Grosbeak, Lesser Goldfinch, Lazuli Bunting and Indigo Bunting – all in one mulberry tree!  Everyone also enjoyed seeing two Black-chinned Hummingbird nests.  We ended the field trip with a total of 38 species.  Thanks to everyone who participated!
